Christy Morand, MA, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
I have always had a passion for helping people. I earned my Bachelor's degree in secondary education at Saginaw Valley State University and have over 25 years of experience as a high school teacher as well as 19 years of coaching experience.
I earned my Masters degree in
counseling from Central Michigan University in 2017. I am certified as a school counselor and professional counselor.
By day I currently work as a school counselor in a public school and in
the evenings I work in private practice.
As a therapist I enjoy working with people, helping them to overcome, manage, and find meaning in life's challenges. No life is without stress and painful events but I believe that we all have the ability to choose how we respond to those challenges in our lives. The ability to choose gives us power and freedom to ultimately live a more balanced and meaningful life.
I have been trained in a variety of counseling techniques including:
Play Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
Group Therapy
I also have years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD.
